To cover the latest news from
the world of PLAYMOBIL® and to build an online database for all
original PLAYMOBIL® sets that were produced to date, is no small
undertaking. Luckily, many frequent visitors to the site were
helpful by providing us with pictures and news reports. In
the future we will continue to rely on your contributions even
more...

Whether you collect old blue boxed sets or you are into more
contemporary items, you can help us build the
greatest site for our continuously growing virtual community! We don't need you to get into HTML or editing web
pages. Almost all pages on collectobil are in fact generated
through a home cooked piece of software called "PlaymoView".
We can use your help however with:
Background Information on old and new PLAYMOBIL® sets
We are especially looking for information on sets that might be Rare, Discontinued or Regional Exclusives.
Information on a sets exact release date or the year it
became discontinued make up valuable bits of info. Even details
which might seem trivial at first - like the box dimension and
weight of a particular set - are welcomed.
Sometimes, small modifications occur in a sets life-span:
figures, decal sheets, color schemes or a sets packaging get
changed a bit. If you notice such changes, let us know.
All information you want to share can be submitted in an e-mail
to

Box Pictures
Because PLAYMOBIL® is a very visual phenomenon, we would be
nowhere without box pictures - scanned or photographed - with a fair amount of quality.
We are looking for images of both the front and back
sides of the boxes.
If you own a scanner: Scans of boxes are best made with an
initial resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) to
achieve the quality we are aiming for.
Pictures taken with a (digital) camera are somewhat more
problematic. especially when a flashlight is involved, the light
is not spread evenly and a bright white flare might appear. If
you take pictures with a camera, be sure you take them straight
in front of the boxes' surface, and in the case of digital
photography, make sure you use the highest resolution possible
on your camera (min. 800x600 pixels).
You can sent your pictures - preferably saved as high quality
*.jpg files - to
If you don't own a scanner or a camera - or if you don't have the
time - you can also help us by sending the original boxes to us by regular
mail. Send an e-mail to
and we will
tell you what address to send it to.
Catalogues and other printed publications...
...are also a great source for info. If you have some of these
materials for us, just E-mail to
and tell us what you've got. Chances
are that we may already have some of the materials you are
offering, but if you've got something we are still missing,
please give our postman some more work.
Creative outings.
Collectobil is also looking forward to find out what you
actually do with all these PLAYMOBIL® toys. Have you build a
huge Panoramic setup in your basement? Do you give psychiatric
counseling sessions with the aid of PLAYMOBIL® figures? Have you
just ordered a thousand historical figures to create your own
little army? Or did you lock yourself up for months to create a
playmo movie? Just tell us in an e-mail to
, and maybe we'll be able to
highlight your creative efforts in our collectofun section.
