Collectobil - Novelties March 2002 - Freetime update

Just in time for the Easter holidays comes an 8 set strong update of the free time vacation theme.

The new system-x Vacation House (3230) is a very complete set. The house is easy to put together - unlike some other system-x buildings - and the large opening on one side of the roof provides easy access to the interior elements. The vacation house comes with lots of accessories, like the obligatory barbeque stand and a television set for rainy days. Four figures - a complete family - are included to start the vacation fun at full capacity.

A compact playground is provided in the Jungle Gym (3235) set.

The PLAYMOBIL® assortment has been without a camper ever since the discontinuation of the last - blue and white - Camper in 1986. The new Family Vacation Camper (3236) is smaller than the earlier versions, but it offers the same functionalities: A Kitchen area provides all the tools to prepare a vacation meal. The dining corner can be converted into a comfortable bed. Additional camping equipment and a couple in leisure outfit complete the new camper set.

Of course the camper will go nowhere without a car to tow it. The four seat Vacation Car (3237) is a minor update of the discontinued blue Family Car (3739) from 1992. Apart from the new color and some different decals on the sides of the vehicle, the only significant change is the added luggage compartment on the roof of the car. The rack on the roof can also hold two bikes.

Water fun is guaranteed with the fancy looking Catamaran (3183). Its sails and removable mast can be maneuvered into several positions. And when used in combination with the 1,5 V battery powered PLAYMOBIL® underwater motor, the sails will catch the wind even in the calmest waters.

Another noteworthy thing about the march 2002 novelties is that they mark the introduction of some interesting new PLAYMOBIL® figure parts.

For the first time, we get figures with naked upper arms and arms with short sleeves. The figures are also dressed with casual summer clothing like Bermuda shorts and T-shirts.
