THE TROL LICENSE
(Brazil)
In the seventies and early eighties, PLAYMOBIL® was produced
for the Brazilian market under license from Geobra by a company named
"TROL".
Production started in October 1976 and
most sets were complete reproductions
of original Geobra sets, only some sets were customized with brown faced
figures and typical Brazilian color palettes.
The
factory closed its doors in 1988, after the respectable Minister of
Economy Mr.
"Dilson Domingos Funaro ", who took the initiative to
produce PLAYMOBIL® over there, had passed away. Three years later the
license was picked up by "Estrela", another
Brazilian company.
