Annual Customizing Contest


 "This category has figures from Fairy Tales, Adventure
Stories and other well known heroes and villains of
fiction. However, some figures may not be familiar to
everyone, as almost every part of the world has its own
make believe characters. What is most important in this
category is the imagination that was used to create the
fantasy figure."
 



 In a time were the current PLAYMOBIL® assortment has almost lost its entire fantasy theme, it's good to see that fantasy characters are still going strong amongst customizers: no less than 43 figures were submitted into the Fantasy category making this the most popular category of the contest.

There were many high-scoring entries in this category, but none so high as Andreas Manner's "Don Quijote & Sancho Panza" figures, which garnered a total of 109 points from the contest jury.

 The recent "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter" movies provided the most inspiration in this second category. Customizer Oliver Deeg even went so far to transform the entire cast of both movies into customized figures. Oliver claimed silver and bronze in this category with two of his other entries "Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs" (104 points) and "Evil Cardinal" (96 points) based on the character from 'The Hunchback of the Notre Dame'.
